YP Committees

FUND DEVELOPMENT

The Fund Development Committee shall create and coordinate activities to raise funds for all TCUL programs. The Fund Development Committee is responsible for building relationships with companies, updating the sponsorship packet, managing individual give campaigns and obtaining sponsorships from various companies (including in-kind donations).

  • Build strong teams that can execute the goals of the committee.

  • Responsible for drafting an overview of events you foresee executing for the quarter that has a positive effect on the community.

  • We focus on strengthening and empowering our community, organization and members.

COMMUNICATION

The Communications Committee shall be responsible for disseminating all information regarding TCUL-YP and the organization’s events, programs, and other endeavors. The Communications Committee manages all social media outlets, the member and general e-blast, creating flyers and event content, Eventbrite/Ticket Falcon, website event page, and assisting with the creation of the Annual Report. Additionally, it should seek to engage traditional media outlets (news, radio, podcast, etc).

CIVIC ENGAGEMENT & POLITICAL AWARENESS

The political advocacy arm of the organization. Encourages member and community participation with voting, policy creation, and policy adherence.

MEMBERSHIP

The Membership Committee shall recruit and encourage prospective members to join TCUL-YP, as well as provide membership services as directed by the Executive Committee. The Membership Committee is responsible for executing the New and Prospective Member Orientations and TCUL affinity groups. It will also be responsible for managing member retention and member recognition initiatives.

SOCIAL & CULTURAL

The Social and Cultural Committee shall develop and coordinate all social and/or cultural events for TCUL-YP. In addition to planning periodic social and cultural events, it is also responsible for planning other key fundraising events in conjunction with the Fund Development committee and planning member-only cultural experiences.

Young Professionals Join Week 2024

February 6 - February 10

In alignment with the National Urban League’s Young Professionals Movement, our Tri-County Peoria Urban League Young Professionals chapter (TCPUL-YPs) will be hosting Join Week 2024 from Februray 6 - 10, 2024!

The purpose of Join Week is to conduct a variety of events and activities that invite community members to learn more about the Young Professionals movement, share opportunities for involvement with out local chapter, and recruit new members to join the YPs!

This year’s schedule of events will include an Escape Night, Rep Yo’ Team Super Bowl Trivia Mixer, and a We Are Blaqk Excellence Vision Board Party!

All Join Week events are 21+ and open to the public..
