Food Pantry

Employment services offered through the Urban League help clients through a variety of programs that support individuals in obtaining employment. Each individual is assigned a counselor who assesses, coordinates individual skills and capabilities for available jobs.

 

Job Placement and Referral Service

The department provides career counseling and assists individuals in securing gainful employment. A series of workshops are held periodically throughout the year: job readiness, life-skills, job retention, financial literacy and other topics. A counselor matches individualized talents, skills, and abilities with select job requirements so that the client will have a meaningful work experience.

 

Pre and Post Job Guidance

This service helps individuals learn the basic skills for obtaining and securing employment. We offer one on one counseling and advice to applicants, targeted recruitment and preliminary screening to job seekers, follow-up counseling, and job search assistance.

Urban Youth Empowerment Program (UYEP)

A specialized program designed to help at risk and adjudicated youth ages 18-24, to address the need for career development through education, training, case management, academics, assessment, personal development, work / community service.

 

Men's Closet

Suits donated by the Men's Wearhouse™ helps unemployed men to build the self-confidence needed to re-enter the workplace. It also enables them to make good first impressions during job interviews.
